FAQs

I'd like to run for a position, what do I do?

Hey, this is great news!

Here is some important information to consider:

  1. Any individual who would like to run for a position must be nominated by someone — you cannot nominate yourself
  2. The nomination deadline is May 31st — no late applications for board positions will be accepted
  3. Nominees’ names must match the name they registered and graduated from Centennial College with
  4. Applicants should use an email address that is checked frequently

The first step in running for a position on the Centennial College Alumni Association Board of Directors is to download the nomination form.

Certain positions on the CCAA Board of Directors have requirements. For example, for the position of President, you must have served on the Board of Directors for at least one year. See full list of position requirements here.

I registered for the AGM but haven't received any information.

If you register before June 11, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. you’ll receive an email with further information.

If you attempted to register after this date, you may still attend the AGM, but you will not be registered to vote.

Please check your junk and spam mailboxes to check for an email from the Centennial College Alumni Association. If you haven’t received it and suspect you may have entered your email incorrectly, please email us with your name, email and student number.

If you have already received an email from us, our next communciation regarding the AGM will be confirmation we have verified your membership in the CCAA.

Before the meeting, you will receive two more emails:

  1. An email with the link for the meeting
  2. An email asking you to participate in a voting test to ensure your vote will be counted at the AGM
I can't attend the AGM, what can I do?

If you are unable to attend the AGM you can assign your vote to another member of the CCAA who will be attending by giving them your proxy.

When you assign your proxy to another member, your vote will be counted the same way they vote. So be sure to give it to someone who will be voting how you’d like.

The deadline to submit a proxy is Friday, June 11 at 11:59 p.m..

Please use this form to submit your proxy.

*The person you are giving your proxy to must be registered to attend the AGM before you can assign your proxy to them

Please note, in order to stand for election or to be acclaimed, you must be present at the CCAA Annual General Meeting.

Each member is able to hold a maximum of three proxies.

How does voting work?

The week of the AGM you will receive an email with information on how to vote via a website, Simply Voting. You will also receive an invitation to participate in a sample vote to ensure your vote can be counted.

The Association’s lawyers will be managing the voting process and will be the only parties able to access the results of the vote. They will announce the results of each vote at the AGM.

During the AGM you will be asked to log on to Simply Voting’s website. As votes are called, they will appear on the website screen and you’ll be able to vote. Voting will be open for a specific amount of time for each vote.

I have other questions.

We would love to answer them. Please email us at agm@ccaa.life.
