CENTENNIAL COLLEGE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION TUITION SCHOLARSHIP

1 Scholarship valued up to $5000 per academic year

Centennial College Alumni Association has an unique and valuable role to fill in promoting the excellence, welfare and future of the College. In sponsoring a tuition scholarship, the Alumni Association recognizes academic and personal excellence.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for consideration for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • be in their final year of secondary school
  • have applied to a Centennial College program
  • have satisfactory academic standing show achievement in sports or the arts, community services, or other areas of endeavour which demonstrate integrity and commitment
  • provide your complete high school transcript of your marks
  • provide a biographical sketch
  • provide three letters of reference/support outlining your achievements and contributions to your community
  • be accepted and subsequently enroll fulltime in a Ministry approved program for the academic year of study

This scholarship will be awarded to a family member of living or deceased Centennial College Alumni.
Please note that to apply you must be either a Canadian Citizen, landed immigrant and protected persons for regular tuition fees (international tuition fees excluded).

The recipient will see up to $5000 per academic year credited towards tuition at the time of registration, with a maximum of two more installments in subsequent years if a grade average of 70% is maintained with no failed courses. The student must be enrolled in at least 90 percent of a full course load for each semester. Any recipient who does not meet this requirement will have his or her case reviewed before the Board of Directors. A scholarship recipient is not permitted to hold, simultaneously, other major scholarships.

CENTENNIAL COLLEGE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP FOR SINGLE PARENTS

This $1000 scholarship is awarded once a year to a single parent returning to school showing financial need.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for consideration for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • have applied to a Centennial College program
  • Single Parent, state number of dependents
  • Mature student in their first year
  • Graduated from an Ontario High School
  • Letter of reference
  • Completed Budget (Financial Services will provide this to applicants)
  • Write an essay explaining how a scholarship would help you/your family, change your life and what you expect to do for a career after (not exceeding 1500 words)
  • Be accepted and subsequently enroll fulltime in a Ministry approved program for the academic year of study

JACKIE MCVEIGH ATHLETIC ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIPS

1 Scholarship for a Female Student Valued at $1,000.00 1 Scholarship for a Male Student Valued at $1,000.00

Centennial College Alumni Association is pleased to offer two entrance scholarships, one for a female varsity student and one for a male varsity student, in addition to their long-standing support of the Centennial College Alumni Association Full Tuition Scholarship. The Centennial College Alumni Association Jackie McVeigh Athletic Entrance Scholarships are dedicated to support access to education for the students within our community who have demonstrated athletic prowess.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for consideration for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • have graduated from an Ontario high school within the last twelve months
  • possess a minimum 60% average in your high school graduating year
  • provide your complete high school transcript of your marks
  • provide one letter of reference from your sport coach outlining your contributions to the sport you participate in
  • write an essay on the next page ‘How my involvement in sports has contributed to my personal growth (not to exceed 500 words)
  • be accepted and subsequently enroll fulltime in a Ministry approved program for the academic year of study
  • be a Centennial Varsity student
  • cannot be the recipient of any other scholarship valued at $1,000 or more

SCHOOL OF ADVANCEMENT, SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS, MEDIA & DESIGN, SCHOOL OF COMMUNITY & HEALTH STUDIES, SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY & APPLIED SCIENCE, SCHOOL OF HOSPITALITY, TOURISM AND CULTURE, SCHOOL OF TRANSPORTATION

Centennial College Alumni Association is pleased to offer seven entrance scholarships, in addition to their long- standing support of the Centennial College Alumni Association Full Tuition Scholarship. The Centennial College Alumni Association Entrance Scholarships are dedicated to the Schools to honour, recognize and support access to education for the students within our community who aspire to higher education.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for consideration for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • have graduated from an Ontario high school within the last twelve months
  • possess a minimum 70% average in your high school graduating year
  • provide your complete high school transcript of your marks
  • Applicants must demonstrate 40 hours of community service (Please note, these 40 hours must NOT include any portion of your required high school curriculum: Specifically we are seeking community service in addition to your high school requirement.)
  • provide one letter of reference from your community service contact outlining your contributions to your community
  • write an essay demonstrating how you have given back to your community and the lessons you have learned from this community service (not to exceed 500 words)
  • be accepted and subsequently enroll full-time in a Ministry approved program for the academic year of study
