Celebrate Black History Month in vibrant style with an unforgettable Caribbean musical experience! The Centennial College Alumni Association proudly invites you to join the Toronto Symphony Orchestra for Hot, Hot, Hot! – an exhilarating concert that will transport you straight to the heart of the Caribbean.
This lively event combines the captivating rhythms of calypso, cumbia, and other Caribbean sounds with the power and magic of a full orchestra. Feel the pulse of island life through high-energy beats, including classic hits like Calypso Rose’s “Calypso Queen”, David Rudder’s “Calypso Music”, and Kes’ infectious anthem “Savannah Grass”. The vibrant sounds of steel drums, Latin percussion, and more will infuse this performance with the soul of the islands, blending orchestral mastery with the unique spirit of Caribbean music.
Whether you’re a longtime fan of Caribbean sounds or new to the genre, this concert offers an exciting opportunity to explore the rich musical traditions that define the region. 1.5 billion people came together—each with a story to tell about the day rock ‘n’ roll changed the world. Songs featured from U2, Diana Ross, The Who, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Queen, and others who came together to raise money for charities.
Alumni, let’s continue to honor the artists and the cause. 15% of our ticket sales will be donated directly to The Band Aid Charitable Trust.
