When Mohit Masand arrived in Canada to attend Centennial College as an international student, he found more than a world-class education in his chosen field. He also found a warm and welcoming community that helped him feel at home.
“Not only did Centennial’s staff and faculty help me excel academically, but they also offered great insights about settling in Canada and finding a suitable job,” he says.
As a marketing professional who had started building his career in India, Masand wanted to expand his skills and access new opportunities for growth. Centennial’s Sales and Account Management Program sounded like the perfect fit – and it was. Masand was offered a job in his field as soon as he graduated in 2014.
He soon became a licensed mortgage agent and today manages a team of mortgage professionals working with Dominion Lending Centres Affinity Mortgage Solutions. For the past three years, he has been a recipient of Dominion Lending Centres’ Sales Achievement Award in recognition of his outstanding track record.
He’s also committed to giving back: Masand regularly holds training sessions and guest lectures at Centennial.
“The interactions I had with guest lecturers at Centennial helped me network with professionals in the field and acquaint myself with industry trends,” he says. “Going back to the classroom to speak with new students is an important way of passing on the opportunities that were given to me.”
Advice for new alumni
